At the heart of the FlashBox is SGL FlashNet, the foremost content storage management system available to the broadcast market. SGL FlashNet's power, resilience and scalability have been harnessed in a compact 7u system, the ideal solution for those users who need content management and accessibility to their valuable media assets, but whose budgets cannot stretch to a 'separates' archive of hardware, software and professional services. SGL FlashBox solves this problem, providing integrated archiving with a price/performance ratio that lowers the cost of entry to the data archive world, whilst ensuring the key business criteria of scalability and security.
Reasonable price and easy expansion
FlashBox comprises 2 components: server/storage and a tape library. Each can be purchased in different configurations to suit individual needs. Server/storage is available in 3TB, 7TB or 14TB configurations, and the tape library starts at a base configuration of 10 slots with one LTO4 drive. The tape library is expandable up to 2 drives and 47 slots, in increments of 10 slots. For DV material this translates to a base configuration of 1000 hours of content storage, up to 4250 hours for the fully populated configuration.
