| The upgrade procedure for FlashNet on the Solaris platform is documented in the Installation section of the FlashNet User Guide. | |||
An
upgrade of FlashNet on Solaris is performed using the same installation
script as a new install. Please refer to the User Guide for instructions
on locating and executing the script. |
|||
Configuring
Attached Devices The FlashNet installation script requests that the user configure devices thus: CONFIGURING THE SCSI DEVICES: All the changers and drives must be powered on, continue? [y/n] If no new devices are to be configured the user should enter n. Entering y at this point will rebuild the /dev/kernel/st.conf and ds.conf files. This may cause device files to be rebuilt for existing devices, which may cause communication problems. Entering n at this point causes the installation script to continue without rebuilding st.conf and ds.conf files and without recreating any device files. If the user has erroneously entered y at this point, and now finds that they cannot communicate with their existing devices, the device files must be manually reconfigured. Please refer to tech note 7 for details on rebuilding device files on Solaris. |
