browser-based data management system FlashWeb allows you to set up secure log-ins to the central server on a per-user basis. This means that customers can only see the files and directories that you wish. Files and folders can be archived directly from the browser window using a basket structure, which allows the user to select individual items or entire directories to be archived. FlashWeb maintains a preview of all files, even when they have been archived. Users and customers can view thumbnails of files within the archive itself. Any files that they wish to retrieve can be restored on demand using the same point-and-click basket structure. Files can be restored to the original location or to an alternate location as defined by the administrator. |

All administration and control of libraries, volumes and volume groups is performed in the FlashNet application residing on the central server. The administrator controls precisely the actions that each user is permitted to perform; some users may not be permitted to initiate archives or restores, for example. All access to the FlashWeb server is via secure log in, which not only controls user actions but also the areas of the server that they are permitted to view.
