German agency Creation Club chooses SGL for major CMS integration

Software Generation Limited (SGL), a leading provider of content archive and storage management software for media and entertainment, has been selected by one of Germany's leading creative agencies for audiovisual production, CREATION CLUB, to provide SGL FlashNet as part of a major Content Management System (CMS).

SGL FlashNet is being installed at the facility as part of Avid's Interplay non-linear digital workflow engine. The software will be used as an Avid Media Archive and shared storage backup. Felix Sauer, CREATION CLUB's Technical Director, explains: "This installation of SGL FlashNet is making a big difference to the facility, as all of our assets are completely digitized bit by bit following tape ingest. This has significantly improved our workflow and provides a seamless transition from editing to archive and vice versa." The SGL-managed archive provides CREATION CLUB with 20TB of disk storage for the first stage and 100TB of tape library storage for seamless migration between multiple layers of hierarchical storage.

CREATION CLUB works with a number of leading broadcasters including Premiere, ZDF, DSF, arena, Disney Channel, DMAX, Canal+ (Scandinavia), ATV (Austria) and Plug TV (Belgium). The facility also developed and interpreted the complete on-air design package for Red Bull's "Red Bull AirRace" broadcast by TV stations worldwide.
