Cox Television standardizes archive systems on SGL

Southampton, UK
3rd May 2007

Software Generation Limited (SGL), a leading provider of content archive and storage management software for media and entertainment, has been selected by Atlanta-based Cox television as the archive management software provider for 15 Cox Television stations across the U.S.

The Cox stations will be using SGL FlashNet as a central archive for multiple departments including on-air, production and news. The archive systems will be rolled out to the stations over the next three years.

Steve Atkinson, SGL's Vice President, Americas, said: "We appreciate the confidence that Cox has shown in our products and company by selecting FlashNet. Cox is representative of station groups whose market size spans the spectrum. We believe that this further demonstrates FlashNet's ability to meet the storage requirements from small to major market stations."

Cox Television operates 15 television stations and two local cable channels in 11 markets, three national television sales representation firms and a Washington D.C. news bureau. Cox Television is a subsidiary of Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises, Inc., one of the nation's leading media companies and providers of automotive services.
