SGL chooses Sanbolic's clustered file system Melio FS for FlashNet clusters NAB,
Las Vegas, Booth SU11926 Software Generation Limited (SGL), a leading provider of content archive and storage management software for media and entertainment, has announced a technology partnership with Sanbolic, Inc., a leading developer of software to simplify and share SAN storage. SGL has selected Sanbolic's Melio FS as the underlying Clustered File System for its FlashNet Clusters used for data archive installations. Sanbolic's Melio FS will be part of the SGL FlashNet Cluster demonstration at NAB 2008 in Las Vegas, at booth SU11926. SGL FlashNet, the company's content storage and archive management software, is used as an integrated part of workflow systems from many of the major solutions providers to control the backup and retrieval process of news and documentary material, which is stored within its archive. For high-availability and failover, multiple FlashNet servers are clustered through Sanbolic's Melio FS, increasing reliability and security of the storage management solution. Melio FS is a clustered file system that allows multiple servers attached to a common storage pool to work in active-active mode and process data simultaneously. The SGL FlashNet Cluster solution including Melio FS is tested and certified, and is compatible with all the 3rd party systems FlashNet is currently integrated with, such as Avid Interplay, Thomson Grass Valley Aurora, Harris Invenio and Blue Order MediaArchive. The integrated solution has been installed at major customers worldwide such as CBS, RTS Belgrade, GMTV, TVB Hong Kong, WWE, WTTG, Sky Italia, NBC News, BBC and the Bulgarian National TV. The session, entitled Content Delivery and Archiving Digital Storage, will be held in Room N119 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
