NAB2008

At this year's NAB exhibition, SGL will be showcasing a number of exciting new products. Here's a brief introduction to the things you can see when you visit our booth, SU11926.

FlashNet version 6.2
The latest release of SGL FlashNet features many new enhancements. These include enhanced error monitoring for storage devices and media; additional StorageManager functionality to allow manual movement of material between different storage layers; enhanced grouping functionality which allows externalization of volume groups; and enhanced integration with news systems, such as Avid iNews and Thomson Grass Valley Aurora, as well as an enhanced API for integration with SGL's many partner vendors.

FlashBrowse
FlashBrowse is SGL's new enterprise archive viewing tool that enables browse copies of archive material to be externally stored and accessed. FlashBrowse provides a fast, cost-effective solution for all archive systems including post-production facilities and broadcasters. FlashBrowse provides an interface, independent of the control system, allowing material to be searched and viewed and then automatically restored back into the online media network. FlashBrowse is fully compliant with Avid Interplay and Media Manager WG4 environments.

FlashBox
FlashBox is the new all-in-one archive solution, aimed at customers with archive requirements where a conventional infrastructure is cost prohibitive, such as post-production facilities, regional broadcasters and individual broadcast departments. FlashBox comprises a server and tape library in a compact 7u solution, offering a number of technology and business benefits. The fully scalable solution starts at a 4TB disk archive, and single LTO4 tape drive and 10 x 800GB tape storage slots, providing 12TB/1,000 hours of DV-25 entry-level storage. FlashBox ships with ALL hardware, software, installation, training and 12 months standard support.
