As part of FlashNet's integration with Avid systems, operators of Avid NLE suites, such as Symphony, MediaComposer, AvidExpress and NewsCutter, can access the data archive directly from the NLE software via the Avid TransferManager. This allows users to restore edited clips directly to the video server, where they can be further edited if required. When editing is complete, clips can be archived directly from the NLE suite. All edits are maintained - no flattening of clips occurs, which means that all edits can also be restored for re-edit at a later stage. FlashNet's tight integration into the Avid system ensures that the operator maintains control at all times.

Although there's no direct FlashNet integration with other NLE solutions, data files can still be archived from and restored to NLEs using standard FlashNet procedures. The user utilizes FlashNet's intuitive user interface to create and manage archive schedules and restore operations. Data can then be transferred to and from the archive on demand or when scheduled.
